Article for FGL–Future Language Text
My essay—‘Designing Armenian typefaces: researching the past to inspire the present’—has been published in FGL–Future Graphic Language: New Directions in Verbal Communication by the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology. This essay is based on the talk the author gave at ‘Future Graphic Language: New Directions in Verbal Communication’, a symposium held in Warsaw on 6 December 2019. It aims to reflect upon the preservation of Armenian identity in a global context and to discuss how an understanding of the typographic development of the Armenian script can inform current design practice.
