Lekton
Custom font for the event ‘Fiera della parola’, organised by the Archivio Storico Olivetti, Ivrea in 2008
Lekton is a font family in Regular, Bold and Bold Italic, double-spaced and tri-spaced.
Lekton Regular has been initially designed at ISIA Urbino by myself, Luna Castroni, Stefano Faoro, Emilio Macchia, Luciano Perondi, Michela Povoleri and Tobias Seemiller. Lekton Regular was realised as a custom font for the event ‘Fiera della parola’, organised by the Archivio Storico Olivetti, Ivrea in 2008. It was designed in 8 hours, and based on ‘Notizia’, a typeface used by Olivetti typewriters.
Lekton maintains the characteristics of the ‘daisy’ printing element, used for all the electronic typewriters and the continuous profile printers of the Olivetti Group.
In the same year, I have designed Lekton Bold, and worked with other designers on further development of the Lekton font family in 2009.
